Police investigate accident

A Toyota bakkie jumped a red robot before the driver lost control and rolled several times at Ibazelo section in Tembisa, late on Friday last week.

The car nearly hit several people who were crossing the road, who had to jump out of the way.

According to an eyewitness, she saw a car running a red light next to King’s Palace.

“We saw the car go through a red robot, and when the driver approached a speed hump, he had to swerve to the side as there were cars slowing down for the speed hump. When swerving to the side, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled. The car rolled several timesand we rushed over to help. One of the passengers had to be rushed tohospital,” said the eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous.

When The Tembisan arrived at the scene, the driver seemed to be in a state of shock, while trying to remove his car from the scene. Onlookers helped the driver remove his car.

Two women were seen comforting each other, while others were crying.

Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Manyadza Ralidzhivha, said police are investigating the accident.
