Suspect murderer nabbed

A male suspect on the run since March for attempted murder in Benoni was arrested in Tembisa.

The arrest was made by the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Loss Control and Investigations Unit.

Two unlicensed revolvers with ten live rounds and a hijacked vehicle were recovered from the suspect.

On apprehending the suspect in Difateng section, the metro police discovered that the VW Polo he was driving was hijacked in Yeoville in October 2012. A Magnum .357 and a .38 Special revolver, as well as housebreaking equipment, were confiscated.

The suspect was arrested and a docket registered against him at the Tembisa police station.

According to the EMM’s spokesperson, Wilfred Kganyago, the suspect who is in his early forties, was expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on September 3 to face charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as being possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
