Loud music: something must be done

‘I am sure there are many small babies, children and elderly living in the area’

I have an issue I would like to throw on the floor to share with anybody else that feels the same way I do and to find out what can be done about it.

I live a complex on Panorama Avenue. My particular unit is right on the border of the vlei and almost opposite the guest house on Besembos Street opposite Builders Warehouse.

On Saturday afternoon, September 2, after a day out fishing, I arrived home around 4pm with this extremely loud music which I realised was coming from Barnard Stadium.

If I say extremely loud, I mean, with all my doors and windows closed, I could hardly hear my TV. This continued well into the night. Fortunately, exhausted as I was, I was, with the help of a sleeping tablet, able to sleep through it.

Now, what I would like to know, firstly, is it necessary when there is such a function at the stadium, or for that matter at the guest house, that the music has to be at such a loud volume?

I am sure there are many small babies, children and elderly living in the area. Phoning the police on these occasions does nothing to help. What can be done about this?
