Clicks Norkem Park donate pet food, toiletries to SPCA

The donations were handed over to the SPCA on July 7

CLICKS Norkem Mall helped feed more cats and dogs by donating pet food, blankets and toiletries to Kempton Park SPCA.

The pharmacy had encouraged its customers to contribute items such as dog food, cat food and toiletries, during its drive from April 4 to July 6. Donations were handed over to the SPCA on July 7.

“Clicks would like to thank all our customers who donated to the drive,” stated pharmacist Neil Heath-Hartley.

Clicks Norkem Mall is involved in various outreach programmes and plan on organising others on a regular basis. So far, the shop has assisted at Kempton inter-schools athletics meetings by issuing water, fruit and sweets. They also offered free blood pressure tests.

“We also had a Christmas initiative last year which saw us give out gifts and prizes to customers over the festive season. We plan on doing another one this year,” Heath-Hartley and George Gerber of Norkem Mall Clicks explained.

Earlier this year, the branch gave out free vitamins, served drinks and food at an Allen Park games day, visited the NG Mooifontein Church on Mother’s Day, and handed out samples of baby products at the NG Kerk Norkem Park.

“Recently we also donated baby products to Trinity United Church in Norkem, and the very next day an eight-month-old baby was found abandoned in Edleen. The baby was found by an orphanage in Edleen and the baby items we donated went straight to the baby,” said store manager Romeo Tshabalala.

Clicks says it would definitely continue being involved in outreach programmes so they could give back to the community and help those in need.
