The highway opposite the airport had been closed following a shootout between armed robbers and security guards on Saturday morning.
According to initial reports the robbery took place at Swissport at Airport Freight next to OR Tambo International Airport.
One suspect was shot in the face and died. Another one was apprehended in Rhodesfield.
Apparently more suspects are still at large.
