Suicide Survivors host open day

SUICIDE Survivors, an East Rand-based organisation which provides awareness about and training in suicide prevention, will host an open day on September 10, which is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Lorraine Mitchell, founder of Suicide Survivors, will share her personal journey and passion for suicide prevention, as well as talk about the related training she offers. Having herself battled depression and suicidal thoughts, Lorraine’s work places strong emphasis on getting people to talk about suicide and depression and learn how to identify the warning signs in someone who is suicidal.

The open day will be at Bedfordview Remedial, Learning & Therapy Centre, Talisman Road, Bedfordview, from 10am to noon.

There is no cost for the two-hour session and refreshments will be served. RSVP to Lorraine Mitchell on suicide.survivors@outlook.com by August 25.
