Water at library leaks for three months

Surely the council has the resources to rectify this problem

CONCERNED RESIDENT writes:

As a regular visitor to Birchleigh Library I am concerned about the lack of maintenance by the council.

Every day we hear about the water shortage in our country and that we must conserve our water resources. There is even talk about water restrictions.

Since April there has been a water leak at the main entrance to the library and to date nothing has been done to rectify the problem. Water just goes to waste. Besides that water is wasted, it is also a safety risk to the public as people can slip, fall and injure themselves.

Surely the council has the resources to rectify this problem so we can save water as well as money and prevent a possible claim against the council.

Kempton Express tried to get comment from the metro. As Concerned Resident did not report the leak herself, we could not provide a reference number.

We notified the metro that it had been reported by their own staff, upon which they wanted the complainants’ details, which we also did not have.

We decided to go ahead publishing the letter as is and hopefully someone in the correct department will see it and fix the leak – Editor
