UPDATE: Huge traffic delays on R21 after oil spill

AN oil spill on the R21 north at Olifantsfontein has left huge traffic delays.

This after a truck overturned and spilled its load of oil onto the highway, according to reports. According to Gauteng 911, the truck also caught fire.

Netstar Traffic tweeted that there was traffic congestion on the highway between the R23 and the R25 and that there would be about a 51-minute delay. Motorists using the highway have been advised to drive carefully and slowly at an average speed of 5km/h.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

According to Emer-G-Med, who were on the scene, multiple lanes had to be closed.
