Birch Acres young DJ aims for greater heights

Being an Afro house DJ is difficult because the Amapiano genre always rules the South African music scene.

Kempton Park Afro House DJ Lungelo Bradley Ndlangamandla, known as Bradley DJ, was raised in Birch Acres.

He attended Nobel Primary School before transferring to Norkem Park High School, where he joined the school chorus.

After school he completed his paramedic certification.

Initially pursuing his career as a DJ in 2021 while still in high school, Bradley DJ’s enthusiasm for music began while he was a sound technician intern at LeMonster Sounds.

He said his mom was a member of a nearby church choir and that she was the source of his love of music.

According to Bradley DJ, he was a curious boy who frequently got into trouble with his parents.

“I would always get in trouble with my parents because I would come home after my curfew because I would be out there with peers listening to new releases and preparing playlists.”

“Through playing my playlists at home my parents understood my love and potential for music,” said Bradley DJ.
He could always be found around anything to do with music.

“For people who don’t listen to Afro House music, I urge them to start listening to the genre because the brand is becoming more popular,” said Bradley DJ.

“When I am on set people fall in love with the music genre.”

“I enjoy DJing because I have the ability to touch people’s emotions and lead them on a spiritual journey.”

Bradley DJ said on his journey he hopes to work in many cities and with big artists.

“Being a young, aspiring artist, I am happy that I began my profession early. Although it is difficult now, with the help of my fantastic team, things will eventually improve.”

Bradley DJ said that he has faced many obstacles on his journey to success.

“Being an Afro House DJ is difficult because the amapiano genre always rules the South African music scene.

This puts a lot of pressure on me when I have to switch genres in the middle of a party in order to dazzle the crowd and keep people on the dance floor.

“The hardest thing I’ve encountered in the profession is dealing with people’s bad attitudes, which you shouldn’t tolerate as an artist.

“I am blessed. I am always motivated by my humble beginnings, looking back from where I started to where I am today.”

He is currently working on an EP and a new single which he hopes to drop soon.

Bradley DJ said in 2021 he won the Crazy Black Friday DJ search competition in Thembisa, which opened many doors for him.

He added that he has showcased his skills at various events such as playing at Hang Awt, Maracana in Sandton, Jubliee Shisanyama, The Weekend, Zone6 Soweto and Black Coffee’ store Yawa.

Bradley DJ added that he sees his brand expanding.

“In the next three years I see my brand at huge festivals such as H2O, the Spring Fiesta, Shimza One Man Show, Tomorrow Land and the best Radio Station YFM.”
