BFS arrest suspects, seize homemade pipe gun and recover vehicle

Members recovered an abandoned hijacked white Toyota Etios reported on an Ivory Park case in the same area.

On August 14, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested two suspects and recovered one homemade pipe gun and one motor vehicle.

Officers arrested a 28-year-old suspect on Kitzinger Street, Brakpan, for possession of a homemade pipe gun.

In the weapon’s barrel was one live round of 9mm ammunition.

This came after a similar arrest for a pipe gun on Goods Road two weeks prior and an arrest on August 8 on Victoria Street for shotgun ammunition.

The suspect will appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s court.

Officers also assisted the Kempton Park SAPS detectives in tracing a suspect wanted for fraud on a Kempton Park case from last month.

They arrested the 33-year-old suspect at a Squirrel Street residence in Monument Park, Pretoria, at about 21:30 and booked him in at the Kempton Park SAPS.

In further policing, members recovered an abandoned hijacked white Toyota Etios reported on an Ivory Park case in the same area.

Investigations into all the cases continue.
