Local officers join forces in anti-crime operation

Officers conducted a driver and vehicle fitness roadblock at the OR Tambo International Airport on the R21 and R24 roadways.

Vehicles and people were searched in a law enforcement operation on July 19 in Kempton Park.

EMPD spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa said various departments participated in the operation including OR Tambo Precinct officers.

Thepa said that the operation was aimed at crime prevention and law enforcement and a total of 151 vehicles and 89 persons were stopped and searched.

“Furthermore, 1 060 vehicles were scanned for outstanding fines,” said Thepa.

She added that law enforcers will continue to prioritise the safety of the public and those travelling and conducting business in the Aerotropolis City.
