Man (30) shot and killed in Thembisa

On July 12, he had just made his second appearance in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court.

A 30-year-old man was shot and killed while walking along the street in Tembisa’s Endulwini Section on Andrew Mapheto Drive.

The motive for the killing is still unknown.

Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni district communication officer, said the deceased’s uncle had stated that the man was a suspect in a murder case that had happened earlier this year.

On July 12, he had just made his second appearance in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.

“The eyewitness claims that the deceased was walking on the pavement at around 15:30 when he was approached by two individuals who shot him at close range while they were following him.

“He fell not far from where they had shot at him, and they continued to shoot at him while he lay on the ground.

“A projectile and a few cartridges were discovered at the crime scene.

“He still had all of his possessions, including his wallet and phone. Suspects fled the site on foot,” said Sekgobela.
