City’s WhatsApp line helps residents

The City of Ekurhuleni’s new Siyakhokha WhatsApp Business Channel has yielded positive results, with almost 7 000 residents benefitting from the application since it launched last month.

“With WhatsApp Business, we can communicate with our customers in a fast, efficient way, improving our customer engagement and turnaround time to public concerns.

“The facility also allows meter reading management solutions,” said the CoE spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini.

“We are also excited to announce the end-to-end encryption for all messages sent and received on WhatsApp Business to ensure all the communication between the city and its customers remains secure and private.”

When launching the app, the city made it clear that the WhatsApp Business would ensure that ratepayers enjoy more direct and transparent interaction with the city.

The app provides a single platform for all your queries and concerns, from resolving account-related issues to submitting meter readings.

“Plus, you’ll be able to make payments using MasterPass, making your experience even more convenient.”

“We’re excited to enhance our customer service offering and provide prompt, efficient service that meets the expectations of modern consumers,” said the chief information officer at the CoE, Moloko Monyepao.
