According to the managing director, Kagiso Nkoana, the team doesn’t have sponsorship and depends on player registrations.

With numerous wins, the team was invited to play in Cape Town for the FTIFA tournament (Fleetwood FC from England league one) from April 7 to April 10.

Nkoana explained the primary aim of the trip was to compete against big teams and give the young boys exposure on a much bigger stage.

“The boys did very well. We had a team of new players from various villages and it is not easy bringing them into a professional setup.

“Some used to see these things on TV and never travelled this far to compete against other teams.

“This opportunity gave them a vast experience and good knowledge of football and life in general.”

The team was knocked out in the group stages.

They have won big tournaments whether they had funding or not.

“We won Lake Imuzi U13 in 2019 and the African Tri-Nation U15. We also achieved second place in the African Tri-Nations held in Botswana last year.

“From 2019 to 2022, both the U15 and U17 teams have consistently occupied second position in our Local Football Association under Eastern Local Football League at the Premier level.

“Before anyone joins us, they have to go through an assessment process, which includes public trials or special trials. The candidate then has to train with the current team of players,” said Nkoana.

He added that Springbok Atlas also tries to help the team with transport.
