Kempton Park police embark on a clean-up campaign

They organised the clean-up because litter was evident on the street, as it is on many streets in Kempton Park.

The Kempton Park Police Station and the Social Crime Prevention Unit embarked on a clean-up campaign on West Street, Kempton Park, on March 31.

According to Kempton SAPS corporate communications officer Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, they organised the clean-up because litter was evident on the street, as it is on many streets in Kempton Park.

Residents picked up litter on West Street on March 31.

“Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator Constable Mpho Sigida, sector managers, second-hand goods officers and communication officers went to West Street, one of our problematic streets in terms of vagrants.

“Members encouraged residents to clean up their street because it was dirty and to report any illegal activities.

“Constable Sigida encouraged the community to work together with the police to curb the crime affecting West Street,” said Ditshego.
