Thembisa woman charged with murder following death of boyfriend

The GBV incident sent shockwaves through the community of eNdulwini.

The death of a 37-year-old man on March 4 was allegedly caused by a 31-year-old woman believed to be his girlfriend.

The incident took place in Thembisa’s Endulwini community.

The SAPS forensics and pathological services attended the crime scene.

“We are concerned about this incident as a community.

“The couple had an argument earlier, which led to the stabbing,” said community member Nonhlanhla Mthethwa.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello, when neighbours heard the disturbance, they called the police.

“The man was declared dead at the scene.”

The woman was detained at the Tembisa Rabasotho Police Station and faces murder charges.

“The tragedy has shocked the community, and many people have expressed sorrow and outrage at yet another senseless act of gender-based violence.

“The police are still investigating a case of murder,” said Sello.

The woman appeared in court on March 6.
