EMPD gives signs to look out for when a child is bullied

When children feel comfortable they will find it easier to report incidents when bullied, either at school or elsewhere.

Parents must know their children and make them feel comfortable enough to talk about issues which affect their lives.

When children feel comfortable they will find it easier to report when they are bullied, either at school or elsewhere.

Here are some signs that your child might be bullied:

• Always having excuses for not wanting to go to school

• Getting easily angered at small things

• Developing a low self-esteem

• Recurring nightmares• No longer wanting to socialise with other children

• Self-harm injuries

• Withdrawal from social media.

Children should be encouraged to report bullying, whether the perpetrators are other children or teachers.
