DEMS on high alert during thunderstorms in the city

According DEMS spokesperson, William Ntladi, one of the main concerns are the low-lying areas and low-lying bridges prone to flooding.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s DEMS will remain on high alert for anticipated severe thunderstorms around the city.

DEMS will monitor the weather closely to assist where and when necessary.

According DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi, one of the main concerns are the low-lying areas and low-lying bridges prone to flooding.

“Pedestrians and motorists are advised to be extra cautious when crossing waterlogged streams.

“Poor visibility and pooling of water on roadsides is eminent.

“Motorists are advised to keep good following distance and slower speed on the roads.”
