Kempton Park SAPS assists with soccer kit donation

The soccer kit was donated as a way to help reduce drug abuse and curb crime.

Members of the Kempton Park Police Station are proud to have handed over new soccer kits to Commandos Football Club in Kempton Park.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, said the club helps in providing coaching clinics and invites interested youth from churches and homeless youth in Kempton Park.

“It assists the youth, especially the homeless, to abstain from drugs and other forms of crime,” said Mtshali.

“The club’s team manager, Gorden Muhwandavaka, approached Kempton Park SAPS Capt Shadrack Magcuntsu, responsible for sector policing, to help with securing a sponsor for soccer kits.

“On approaching one of the businesses, Arlindo de Ascenao from Big Save was keen to assist in curbing crime and donated the soccer kits.”

The soccer kits were officially handed over by Kempton Park SAPS head of support service Col Motsatsi Lesomo, who also thanked the business and football club for helping police in the fight against drugs and crimes, such as theft out of motor vehicles.
