Shoplifter sentenced to three years’ imprisonment

The conviction came after investigating officer Const Pearl Malatjie linked the accused to both incidents.

Investigations conducted by Kempton Park SAPS detectives resulted in the conviction of a shoplifter in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on November 30.

Kempton Park SAPS station commander Brig Lindani Ndlovu and branch commander Col Lesetja Manewa welcomed the conviction.
Andiswa Mkhize (28) was found guilty and sentenced to three years’ direct imprisonment for shoplifting at Woolworths shops in Festival Mall and Woodbridge malls.

Mkhize was found guilty of stealing items, including groceries and perfumes, to the value of about R4 000.
“The conviction came after investigating officer Const Pearl Malatjie linked the accused to both incidents, which resulted in the conviction,” said corporate communications officer Capt Jethro Mtshali.
Ndlovu and Manewa commended Malatjie on the investigation.
