Col Ivan du Plessis from Kempton Park started working for the metro in 1991 as the Thembisa and Kempton Park traffic officer.

He served as a superintendent and was promoted to senior superintendent, before joining the communications and brand management team as the senior protocol officer in 2005.

He also volunteered as a SAPS reservist in Kempton Park. He was promoted to colonel in August this year.

“Studying at Lyceum College and Tshwane University of Technology, he holds ITO 4, a national diploma in traffic safety management, B-Tech and M-Tech, B-Tech in policing, a national certificate in disaster management and is currently in the process of completing his master’s in business administration,” said EMPD’s spokesperson Kelebogile Thepa.

Col Ambrose Allistiar Abrahams started working for the metro in 1994 as a Boksburg traffic officer,

He was an assistant superintendent, acting superintendent, Lt-Col and was promoted to colonel in November this year.

He holds a national diploma in traffic science and studied with the Lyceum College.
