Young driver dies after single-vehicle collision
The light motor vehicle was found on its roof, having jumped the curb, colliding with the brick wall of a local business.
A 21-year-old male motorist died after being critically injured in a single-vehicle collision with a brick wall on Sunday morning. The incident is alleged to have occurred on Vlei Street, Glen Marais.
“ER24 paramedics were on the scene at 7.25am, along with various security companies, the fire department, EMPD and another private emergency service,” said ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen.
“The light motor vehicle was found on its roof, having jumped the curb, colliding with the brick wall of a local business.”
Van Huyssteen also said the young driver was found lying prone inside the vehicle with critical injuries.

“He was treated with advanced life support interventions before being rushed to hospital for emergency care. Unfortunately, the patient later succumbed to his numerous injuries,” said van Huyssteen.
“The details surrounding the incident are unknown to ER24; however, police were on scene for investigations.”
