Herfsland staff spice-up their immunities thanks to Spices 4 Africa

These packets include turmeric powder, cinnamon and ginger powder that each contains health benefits focusing on strengthening one’s immune system.

Care workers at Herfsland retirement village in Allen Grove received immune-boosting spice packets donated by Spices 4 Africa on Wednesday.

Representing this company, Mandy Raman believes healthcare workers have become Covid-19 heroes.

“While the world stayed home with their families and loved ones, these dedicated frontline workers selflessly and tirelessly dedicated themselves to saving lives. They put their own lives constantly at risk, as well as their families as opposed to the rest of the ‘locked population’,” she said.

For Raman, many would say “it’s their job”, but she believes it takes a special kind of person to do this kind of ‘job’.
“Work that requires dedication and selflessness is a calling, not a job. A calling in which frontline staff at Herfsland have unfailingly fulfilled. We would like to honour them.”
