Street signs in Kempton are “shocking”

The photos with this letter shows the shocking street signs in our Kempton Park suburb.

Editor – I am not asking the council to replace all our street signs, only those that are in a shocking, rusted state.

Why can the City of Ekurhuleni not be proactive instead of reactive? It is not up to the citizens of Ekurhuleni to point out to the council all the pitfalls in our area. We should not have to tell the council to fix potholes, street lights, traffic lights and to cut the grass.

Surely with the amount of staff that Ekurhuleni employs this can be done. One person can be allocated to marking and identifying potholes, one for grass-cutting, one for street lights, one for traffic lights, one for missing stop signs and so forth.

This is not rocket science Ekurhuleni. Most of us in Ekurhuleni pay our monthly rates and taxes bills. We deserve better. Become proactive instead of reactive.
