City of Ekurhuleni reminds residents that access to health is a human right

The City of Ekurhuleni released a statement to remind residents that having access to healthcare services is a basic human right guaranteed by the Constitution.

Residents need to raise their concerns if they feel their rights are violated. In upholding these basic human rights, residents visiting any of the City’s health facilities are encouraged not to leave a facility without their needs being attended to.

The MMC for Health and Social Services Clr Nomadlozi Nkosi says, “No one should leave a clinic with unresolved issues.

“All health facilities have suggestion boxes and provide information on how to lay a complaint, and we encourage the community to make use of these channels so that the clinic’s head can address them,” added the MMC.

Complaints or suggestions should be directed to the head of the Department of Health in the City to ensure residents receive satisfactory services when visiting any of the local health facilities.

This is one of the City’s many ways of continuously improving customers’ experiences.
