Hlengiwe Msimango’s case postponed

Msimango, the mother of two, was allegedly killed by the 33-year-old who claims he thought she was an intruder in their house in Birch Acres.

Shortly before going to print on Tuesday, the Express was informed that the man accused of the murder of Hlengiwe Msimago (30) will apply for bail, despite his initial decision to abandon bail application.

The case against Mosa Ntsibande (33), accused of the murder in Birch Acres, was initially postponed to November 24 for further investigation.

It was postponed to November when he made his third court appearance on October 2 in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in front of Magistrate Veena Krishna via the audio-visual remand (AVR).

The matter was then adjourned as the State informed the court it awaits postmortem and ballistic results.

During his October 2 court appearance, family and community members protested outside the court. 

Vanessa da Silva Faria from URA, the law firm appointed to represent Msimango’s family and Sgt Johanna Madiga, Norkem Park SAPS both confirmed to the Express on Tuesday that Ntsibande will appear for bail on Friday, October 9 and that he had obtained new legal representation.
