Two injured in accident on Modderfontein Road

In another accident on the N12 a pedestrian sustained critical injuries

Two men were injured in a collision on Modderfontein Road just after 9am on Thursday morning.

According to Shawn Herbst, spokesperson for Netcare 911, a light delivery vehicle and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in the collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found two men had sustained moderate and serious injuries respectively.

The seriously injured patient was treated on the scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner while a Netcare 911 rescue technician used hydraulic tools to free him.

Once stabilised, the patient was transported to hospital for further treatment.

In another on Thursday afternoon, a 43-year-old man was left critically injured when he was struck by a truck on the N12 near the Atlas Road of-framp in Boksburg.

Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, said an ER24 advanced life support paramedic was on his way to his branch when he came across a truck parked on the side of the road. A male pedestrian was found beneath the truck attempting to crawl free.

Medics assessed the man and found he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the truck escaped injury.
