WATCH: Serious injuries as boys from two Kempton Park schools fight

One boy stabbed and another beaten unconscious as boys fight outside Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld High School.

Paramedics and police rushed to a park on Commission Street on Friday afternoon following a violent fight between boys from Kempton Panorama School and Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld High School.

A Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld learner, speaking to Kempton Express, said it was chaotic as learners witnessed school violence like never before around 2pm.

A Grade 10 Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld boy was stabbed while a Panorama boy was left unconscious after he was beaten. It is also believed the Panorama boy was hit by a vehicle trying to flee as boys from Sir Pierre made a chase.

Learners started recording videos and taking photos while most of the girls screamed for the violence to stop and shouted that the boys beat up the wrong person.

“A Grade ten boy from our school, Sir Pierre, told his brother from Panorama that he was being bullied by another Grade 10 boy. His brother came with his friends after school and they started threatening boys from Sir Pierre. They did not even beat the boy who is said to have been the bully,” the learner said.

“They were messing around with other boys and they ended up slapping around another boy. The whole situation became confrontational and the boys from Panorama pepper-sprayed a Sir Pierre boy and then stabbed him. Sir Pierre boys came in their numbers when their schoolmate was bleeding and they chased the boys from Panorama.

“They caught one of the boys, beat him up and stoned him. As he tried to run he was hit by a car. It was like they wanted to kill him. Security officers stood near the boy to protect him from further attacks.”

It is alleged the boys from Sir Pierre chased the other boys towards Van Riebeeck Railway Station where they were running to, to catch a train to Tembisa.

“The police also went in that direction to try and prevent more violence from occurring,” said the learner.

This school violence came a few days after Gauteng MEC for Education Panyaza Lesufi visited Norkem Park High School after a group of learners fought over boyfriends. Before this incident, Lesufi was in Kempton Park to resolve a issue at Windsor House Academy concerning black girls’ hair.

“This whole thing is sad because there have been plenty of these fights outside the school and this time boys almost died. ”

The department of education and SAPS are due to comment.
