#TBT: Mayor’s threat to white South Africans is an enormous wedge

You are guilty sir, of promoting confrontation, reader says

On April 12, 2017, this letter from a reader was the top read story on our website:

WM O’DONOVAN of Pomona writes:

Mayor Mzwandile Masina’s stupid remarks made in Boksburg recently deserves a response from white South Africa. My point of reference is News24.

Mr Masina happily requests not to “ divide our nation”. Now for crying in a bucket. What do you think you have done with what you have said and all your sabre rattling? You are 100 per cent guilty of driving a wedge.

Mr Masina, you must never judge others by yourself, because the ‘whities’ somehow know precisely what you are about, they do not lack grey matter. We know exactly where you are coming from, Mr Masina.

By the way, how many Brownie points did you collect for that racist speech of yours? You better make hay while the sun shines, Mr Masina because Mr Zoooomaaa will soon not be in a position to help his compatriot “yes man” into the mayoral position of Ekurhuleni Municipality for much longer.

Your threat to white South Africans is an enormous wedge that you have created. You are guilty sir, of promoting confrontation.

If you are serious concerning your threats, then I say to you, bring it on. You will be surprised when you find out that dynamite comes in small packages. You should also remember that quality is rarely quantified by quantity. They are incongruous.

You may well have the numbers but I am afraid that it is obvious, even to those of the meanest intellect, that is where it stops and I mean full stop.

Allow me to remind you in the words of Kahlil Gibran that: “Frogs may bellow louder than bulls, but they cannot drag the plough in the field nor turn the wheel of the wine press, and from their skins you

cannot make shoes.”
