Residents take the bull by the horn

'Our streets started to look like a 'rubbish collection street'

TWO Norkem Park residents jumped in on Sunday to remove refuse from their street.

David Davel and Clinton Dehrmann had enough of the mess on their street after more than two weeks of no refuse collection.

“Along with a worker each, we set out to collect refuse bags from our street and take the refuse to Norkem Park Transfer Station as a community service to our street members,” Davel said.

“Our streets started to look like a ‘rubbish collection street’ as there were so many bags outside of each of the properties. It was also starting to smell terrible.”
