Masemola family urged to collect Sifiso’s body

Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital mortuary manager Dudu Buthelezi said Sifiso Masemola’s body was handed over to the forensics team because his death was unnatural.

Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital (TMRH) asked the public to help trace the family and friends of the late Sifiso Masemola (42), who passed away on June 3 in hospital.

The Masemola family is requested to visit the Germiston Mortuary on 10 Long Street, Germiston, to collect the body of Masemola.

It is difficult for the hospital to trace Sifiso’s family because TMRH never received the deceased’s address or contact details of his family.

According to TMRH’s communication assistant director Joseph Monaheng, the patient was found in Alberton forest and taken to Alberton Netcare.

When referred to TMRH, Sifiso was admitted to ward 11 on July 2 and died the next day, Monaheng explained.
Anyone with information that could help the hospital trace the deceased’s family, relatives or friends can call the hospital mortuary manager, Dudu Buthelezi, on 011 891 7346 or 076 431 9440.

On June 7, Kathorus MAIL published a list of 14 dead people awaiting collection at TMRH.

The hospital confirmed only two bodies were claimed – Benjamin Tshabalala (49) from 760 Phola Park, Thokoza, and the baby of Nomsa Lemaoana, from 230 Sikhosana Section, Katlehong.

The other 12 bodies remain unclaimed, and the mortuary will prepare the pauper’s burials.
