Help families and furbabies stay together this festive season

Many pet lovers can’t afford to feed and take care of their fur babies and face having to give them up to animal shelters.

But, a newly launched initiative, Help them Feed them, will provide pet food and care for a year to those in need. Help identify worthy beneficiaries and keep pets where they belong.

They are always happy to see us. They give unconditional love and entertain us with their quirky antics.

When we sit alone on the couch, they cuddle up and provide comforting company. They are always there for us.

Our pets are important members of our family. Our job is to feed them, love them and look after them to the best of our abilities. But sadly, with the increased cost of living, more and more families are being forced to turn their pets to shelters as they cannot afford to keep their furry companions any longer.

It’s heartbreaking for families to have to consider handing their pets over to shelters when they cannot afford proper care for them, although it might be the best option for both. Many shelters are already overwhelmed and at capacity, and according to the  State of Pet Homelessness Index, out of the 4.1m homeless pets, 650 000 cats and dogs are in shelters.

But, where there’s life, there’s hope. Enter Bob Martin, in collaboration with Beeno, Husky and Pamper, who have launched a caring Help Them feed Them initiative this summer that aims to keep pets and their families together by providing pet food and pet care for an entire year for worthy beneficiaries.

These companies believe the best place for pets is to be with their families, where they belong, and aim to keep it that way. They are giving the voiceless a voice by offering to meet their needs.

You are asked to assist with this kind of initiative and find those stories of pet owners that could use a little bit of help to keep their pets right by their side as the campaign allows anyone to nominate a family or individual in need. Let’s all do our bit to keep families and furries together.
