Love after 60 (part 2): How to find the one

Three ways to get out there and meet your next partner.

Getting back into the social scene as a single who is ready to mingle is not always so easy, especially when you are over 60. Try these three options to help you get out there and find your potential new partner or life companion:

Join a club

The easiest way to meet new people is by joining a club. Be it a yacht club, bowling or tennis club, use the opportunity to either learn new skills and take up a sport that always interested you or get back into an activity you loved doing years ago. The beauty about joining a community like this is that you already share a common passion and therefore immediately have a talking point and a connection.

Try a new hobby

Always wanted to try out pottery, painting or dog training? Now is the time to do it! Sign up to a local German language course or join your neighbourhood gardening group and you might just fall in love with the new hobby and possibly meet your true love along the way. Trying out new hobbies will not only do wonders for your social life, but is also an excellent way to keep your mind active.

Sign up online

There are endless online dating websites, communities and apps specifically aimed at people over 60. Be careful when choosing the platform you would like to sign up to, as you want to make sure it is a legitimate website that will be safe for you to use. Be mindful of the dangers of online dating, as people can pretend to be someone completely different online compared to reality. Ask friends and family if they have successfully used an online dating option or ask your grandchildren to assist you in finding a trustworthy website.
