This easy recipe is a firm favourite among children and requires just three simple ingredients to make - butter, marshmallows, and cereal.

So, are you looking for a simple, delicious, and cost-effective recipe you can make with your child that does not involve a lot of time and effort but still tastes yummy? Then, try these perfectly scrumptious marshmallow cereal treats.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 5 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 5 cups of your child’s favourite cereal

How to make it:

  1. Put the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes until fully melted. Be careful not to let your child touch the bowel as it may be hot.
  2. Remove from microwave, and let your child stir in the marshmallows.
  3. Return the bowl to the microwave for another 1 to 4 minutes, stirring every 50 seconds, until the marshmallows are fully melted.
  4. Stir the mixture until completely smooth.
  5. Help your child pour in the cereal, and mix well.
  6. Grease a 9″x13″ baking dish, and put a little butter or kitchen oil on your child’s hands too.
  7. Remove the cereal from the mixing bowl, and let your child use their hands to press the mixture evenly into the baking dish to form one even, smooth layer.
  8. Let the treats cool completely and cut into squares.

Optional: Insert sticks into the squares before serving.
