Alberton SAPS apprehends female (25) found with cannabis

A 25-year-old female was detained by Alberton SAPS after the EMPD found her in possession of cannabis.

An intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of a 25-year-old female nabbed for dealing with dagga on August 24.

Members of EMPD patrolling the area were informed of a house in one of Alberton SAPS policing precinct of a female said to be selling dagga. The officers swiftly responded.

On arrival, they found a female who matched the description of the suspect they were looking for.

Capt Manare Ramotshela of Alberton SAPS said the suspect was searched.

“The EMPD law enforcers found small packets of dagga. They had no option but to take her to the station. She was given her constitutional rights, informed of her arrest and detained at Alberton SAPS,” he said.

She will soon be appearing at the local court. Ramotshela said the dagga recovered at the scene will be kept in police storage.
