Suspected drug dealer arrested in Eden Park
The suspect was arrested on Leyland Road with 30 bags of khat
On April 4, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a male suspect in Eden Park for possession of an illicit substance.
At 10.45am, the officers on an anti-drug operation stopped and searched a suspicious 29-year-old idling about on Leyland Road.
During the search, the officer found 30 ziplock bags of khat in his possession.
The value of the khat that was subsequently confiscated from the suspect is estimated at R6 000. A cash amount of R200, believed to have been collected unlawfully, was also confiscated from the suspect.
The suspect was arrested and charged with possession of and possible dealing in illicit substances.
