Hijackers nabbed by Booysens Vispol Group A

Swift work from the police led to the recovery of a hijacked vehicle.

On January 28 the complainant alleged that he arrived at his home in Turffontein from work at around 8:45pm.

According to the victim, he parked his white Ford Ranger to open the gate. Leaving the car idling, two suspects approached him from behind.

One suspect pointed a firearm at the complainant while searching him. His cellphone was taken while the suspects drove away with his vehicle.

The complainant contacted Booysens SAPS. The members gave a lookout for the hijacked vehicle and the vehicle was spotted and the members from Booysens Vispol Group A (Constable Daniel Moabi and Peace Officer Dladla) gave chase.

The vehicle was pulled over close to Booysens police station and suspects were arrested. One suspect was found to be in possession of a toy firearm.

Booysens SAPS communication officer Capt. Lorraine van Emmerik said investigations are still ongoing.

“The management of Booysens SAPS wishes to thank all the members for their dedication in the fight against crime and all the role players involved in making this arrest,” she said.
