Shots fired, two trucks set alight on Swartkoppies bridge

Two trucks were set alight on Swartkoppies bridge on January 15.

According to SAPS, the driver of one of the trucks felt like the truck was binding, and shortly after that, he heard gunshots. He left the truck and ran away. As he was running he saw that the truck started burning.

The driver of a second truck noticed the stationary truck in the road and hooted at the truck. He heard gunshots and laid down within the truck.

Suspects approached the truck, opened the door, aimed a gun at him, and poured petrol over him. He opened the driver’s door and ran away. The suspects fired several shots at him and as he looked back the truck was burning.

No injuries were reported by SAPS.

The first truck was filled with empty bottles while the second truck was empty. The first driver also lost his cellphone and his personal firearm.
