City warns public of job scam messages

The City urges the public to be vigilant.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) warns the public to be aware of job scam messages circulating through social media platforms.

The messages are reported to seem to be from CoE, inviting people to present themselves at the municipal offices in Germiston on November 20 for medical tests.

Nhlanhla Cebekhulu, City spokesperson, reiterated that the City’s job application process is not conducted through social media platforms or social media messaging.

“Our positions are strictly advertised on our website on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za or vacancies where permanent, temporal, and fixed-term vacancies are advertised.

The City urges the public to be vigilant. Report fraud and corruption on 0800 102 201,” said Cebekhulu.
