Four corruption-accused linked to a R745-million case appeared in the specialised financial crime division at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on October 27.
Former Eskom Kusile CEO Abram Masango, Eskom contracts manager France Hlakudi, businessman Mapholo Kgoemoeswana and Tubular Construction CEO Antonio Trindade appeared on charges of fraud, corruption, money laundering and the offering and receipt of unauthorised gratification over the period from 2014 to 2017.
The matter has been postponed to February 23 to allow the defence the opportunity to consult with their clients and for the disclosure of the case docket.
According to the Investigating Directorate spokesperson, Sindisiwe Twala, the Directorate is in the process of extraditing a fifth implicated person, Michael Lomas, a former board chairperson of Tubular Construction, who is currently living in the United Kingdoms.
Bail has been extended for all the accused.
