While it remains unknown if this will make its way to South Africa, it is reported that the newest member will only be available in Europe.

Offered in two outputs; Q8 55 TFSI E Quattro employs a 3.0-litre V6 TSFI engine with a total power output of 280 kW of power and 600 Nm of torque plus an electric motor.

The Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro uses the same engine but with 340 kW and 700 Nm. Battery power comes courtesy of a new-gen 17.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that, according to Audi, has a 0.5 kWh larger capacity than the one that lurks in the predecessor.

The electric motor is a permanently excited synchronous machine (PSM) with a peak output of 100 kW. The compact electric motor is integrated into the housing of the eight-speed Tiptronic.

The Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro hurdles from stop to 100 km/h in  5.4 seconds while the lesser version completes the same task 0.4 seconds slower.

Audi claims the Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro variant can travel up to 45 km on battery power alone before sipping any dose of fuel. The 55 can travel up to 47 km.
