Armed robbery at Jacques Louw Properties leaves staff shaken

Staff and clients of Jacques Louw Properties were left in a state of panic after an armed robbery occurred on September 23 in Brackenhurst.

At least three armed male suspects reportedly robbed them of four cellphones at gunpoint.

This comes after one of the suspects was said to have gained entry under false pretenses. The suspects drove a silver or grey Toyota Corolla with a false number plate (WFB 731 GP).

Fox Security reportedly arrived on the scene first, with Brackendowns SAPS and CPS Security joining in. Staff and clients of Jacques Louw Properties also received trauma counselling and no injuries were reported.

Lorraine Keyser of Jacques Louw Properties told the RECORD it was the first time such an incident had occurred.

“A guy came in and openly told us we were being robbed and we were all shoved in the reception area. My biggest fear was that someone would be shot but luckily there weren’t any injuries. We had an eight-month pregnant lady with us when the robbery took place,” she said.

The company has opened a case with Brackendowns SAPS and investigations are underway.

Seeff South Crest, a real estate company, also confirmed the same suspects who were involved robbed them of laptops, cellular phones and jewellery. A case has since been opened with Alberton SAPS.

The community is advised to be vigilant of their surroundings and to be on the lookout for a old shape silver Toyota Corolla.
