Royal Kings School keep their learners safe

Each leaner has a sanitiser that is on their desks because they are encouraged to sanitise all the time.

Mulbarton Royal Kings School has re-opened and they have been complying with the new changes in place.

Campus manager Angelic Naidoo explains how they make sure rules are followed and they are staying safe.

“Our cleaning process usually happens in the morning. There is a lineup area where the children spread out a 1.5m distance. There is an area where we sanitise after we check their temperature just to make sure all is in order,” said Naidoo.

They also use a method where there is questioning on evaluating how the child is feeling in the morning.

“We check if they have headaches or feeling tired and if any one of the questions is a red light we have a cooling-off period where we allow a child to be isolated. If the checklist is all good, they will all be escorted to their classrooms.”

She said teachers are advised to monitor the children in their classes where their desks are also isolated and cleaned.

“The kids do not move around during the period, only teachers do. This allows us to sort of minimise the spread of the virus in the event of maybe one of our learners might be sick because not all the children will show signs of sickness.”

She added “We have rules where a teacher recaps on the Covid-19 rules where we tell them to always wear their masks, practicing their social distancing, constantly sanitising and washing our hands. Each leaner has a sanitiser that is on their desks because they are encouraged to sanitise all the time.”

She said they always encourage them as well to wash their hands all the time. They can accommodate children in small numbers in their classrooms where there are 10 to 17 learners.

Lastly, they also sanitise the bottom of their shoes, and temperatures are taken during the course of the day.
