First ever Tembisa kota festival coming up soon
Expect good music, food and children’s entertainment
Registration for the first annual Tembisa Kota Festival is now open. This annual event, billed for August 31 at the Mehlareng Stadium, is set to be a game changer and will certainly change the way people view the kasi burger, as often referred to.
The event organisers promise nothing but fun, entertainment and extremely delicious Kotas.
“This is a family fun-filled event, which will be made up of different activities. Through this food event that celebrates the most popular street food in our township, will feature over 40 different stalls or Kota stations to make sure that revellers feed their cravings while listening to good music,” said DJ Thabs Thabiso.
He stressed that this is a family event and that it will be jam-packed with entertainment for both children and adults.
“Expect good music, food and children’s entertainment,” he continued.
“We want to create a platform for Kota vendors and Kota lovers to meet and speak a common language, but above all, we want to create a signature event for Tembisa that will be loved and enjoyed by all, young and old alike,” he further said.
He said the Kota fest aims to unite and empower Tembisa Kota business through its traditional food and empower local talent.
“We have selected the best Kota vendors from around Tembisa with the intention of putting them in one venue with the people who appreciate this form of art which now has transcended into a renowned phenomenon.
