Umkhonto Young Lions to host community event

Umkhonto Young Lions (UYL), an entertainment company based in Vosloorus, will once again host the Kiddies Rainbow Festival Family Picnic on April 2 at Vosloorus Stadium.

Katleho Mhlanga, the founder of UYL, said this time they want to provide solutions to learners who write Grade 12 examinations without IDs. “At the same time we want to entertain families to bring them together,” said Mhlanga.

He said they want to encourage high school learners, especially Grade 11s and Grade 12s who have no IDs, to go to the Department of Home Affairs to get their documents.

“The actual reason for the picnic is to raise transportation fees for the children. We will send them all to the Department of Home Affairs. We want to stop this problem children have when they are supposed to write their exams,” said Mhlanga.

Parents are more than welcome to come and play with their children.

Learners who will benefit from the money that will be raised during the event will be chosen by the schools.

The event will take place from 10am till 6pm on April 2.
