Help Thandeka to help the community

Thandeka Ivy Geledi (20) from Katlehong, Johannesburg, is a second-year student at Rosebank College where she is studying towards her diploma in public relations.

Raised by a single mother with the help of her (Thandeka’s) older brother, this Miss Eagle South Africa (MESA) 2018 ambassador became a model at the tender age of 15.

She said her dream is to start her own modelling agency and a movie production company.

She explained that MESA is the world’s largest ‘beauty with brains and purpose’ contest.

She entered the competition because she believes that she can use this platform to change the lives of other people.

“I feel that I can spread my wings in my community, province and country to touch many different souls in a small and unique way,” she said.

She wants to show her country that being a model takes more than just a pretty face and a smile.

“It is an expressive art form that tells a story without words,” she said.

“I am passionate about youth development, empowering women and motivating people to reach their full potential,” she said.

She wants to address issues that lead to young girls being raped. She also wants to fight against women abuse and gender-based violence.

“I also do community work, like visiting children’s homes to assist children with their schoolwork,” she said.

She is pleading with the community and Kathorus MAIL readers to vote for her in the Public Choice Award for MESA 2018 by simply SMSing the word ‘Thandeka’ to 35334.

An SMS costs R3. You may SMS as many times as you like.
