Support a good cause with Umkhonto Young Lions

Umkhonto Young Lions (UYL), an entertainment company based in Vosloorus, will once again host the Kiddies Rainbow Festival Family Picnic on April 2 at Vosloorus Stadium.

Katleho Mhlanga, founder of UYL, said this time they are providing entertainment that will bring families together.

“We have noticed that some of the Grade 12’s have problems writing their matric exams without an identity document (ID), because some families find it difficult to even raise money to send their kids to home affairs and have IDs made,” Mhlanga told Kathorus MAIL.

He said they want to gather high school learners, especially Grade 11’s and Grade 12’s, to go to the Department of Home Affairs to get their IDs.

“The actual reason for the picnic is to raise transportation fees for the children. We will send them altogether to the Department of Home Affairs. We want to stop this problem children have when they are supposed to write their exams,” said Mhlanga.

He urged community members to come in their numbers to support the event.

“I would like the community to help us in building the future of the youth in Vosloorus,” Mhlanga explained.

Mhlanga said kids will be entertained with water slides, jumping castles, carnival rides and games, music, indigenous games and much more.

Parents are more than welcome to come and play indigenous with their children.

Learners who will benefit from the money that will be raised during the event will be chosen by the schools.

The event will be from 10am till 6pm on April 2.
