TOGO releases new album

The gospel group Temple Of God Original (TOGO), from Vosloorus, has released its fifth album, titled Molaetsa.

The album features songs such as Naha e Teng, Motse o Teng and Batheni, which will indeed provide listeners with some uplifting music this spring.

Musical director Bongani Maseko said the group is growing from strength to strength.

“There is no doubt our choir has had a great musical journey, with hit singles like Ho dula le Ntate, Thuteng, and Okgetelwe, which have graced the clap-and-tap music scene.

“We call for South Africans across the country to be part of our musical journey as it continues to grow,” said Maseko.

Maseko said the latest album marks the beginning of greater things to come.

“Our group has lined up shows from the spring season to the festive season. We promise nothing less than a world- class quality performance for the masses who have shown so much support for our music,” said Maseko.

He said the group does not only do music.

“We have assisted a lot of orphans by donating clothes to them. We also organised treatment for drug addicts. As for HIV and Aids victims, we have organised help for them.

“We would like to plead for support from business people out there to offer us any kind of support. If we have back-to-back bookings we struggle to move from one function to the next. We would like to get help with transport,” said Maseko.

Maseko said TOGO does not discriminate against disabled people.

“To prove that, we have recruited a former musician, Jabulani Tshabalala, who was discriminated against by people with whom he used to sing. He is a talented gospel musician. But after he got sick and had to have his legs amputated, most of the people he used to sing with turned against him and neglected him. We have made him part of us because we don’t want his talent to go to waste just because he is now unable to walk,” said Maseko.

Maseko thanked Bongani Pikini and Vuyo Mtshambela from Apozion Reloaded for managing, promoting and branding TOGO since day one and embarking on this journey with them.

He thanked Teboho Sehobai for organising TOGO events successfully.

Sehobai said their music is available for download:
