The commemoration of the death of the late film and stage actor, Ken Gampu, last week was a befitting celebration for the man who brought the township of the world forefront.

Gampu, was and still is, a great inspiration to many people, both young and old around the township Vosloorus and the larger region of Kathorus.

His acting roles in the theatre and film have inspired many young people who want to step into his shoes and carry the film and theatre batons forward.

To the organisers of the recent Gampu commemorative event, I wish to extend my wish that they should also do this to many other fallen heroes and heroines of this great township on the East Rand.
