On Wednesday, July 27, between 10am and 4pm, police in Vosloorus held a crime awareness campaign to make the community aware of theft of, and out of, motor vehicles, as well as hijackings.

Communications officer at Vosloorus Police Station, Captain Piet Rossouw told the Kathorus MAIL of their intentions.

“We as police want to help the community by making them aware of these types of crimes. We distributed flyers in Section 1 and 3 just to give them tips about car hijackings, as this type of crime is on the rise in targeted areas,” said Rossouw.

The following stakeholders participated in the distribution of the flyers: SAPS Vosloorus, CPF, Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Patrollers, Gauteng Department of Community Safety, EMPD and EMPD Peace Corps.
